महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-82, verse-42

भीष्म उवाच ।
एतच्छ्रुत्वा सहस्राक्षः पूजयामास नित्यदा ।
गाश्चक्रे बहुमानं च तासु नित्यं युधिष्ठिर ॥४२॥
42. bhīṣma uvāca ,
etacchrutvā sahasrākṣaḥ pūjayāmāsa nityadā ,
gāścakre bahumānaṁ ca tāsu nityaṁ yudhiṣṭhira.
42. bhīṣmaḥ uvāca etat śrutvā sahasrākṣaḥ pūjayāmāsa nityadā
gāḥ ca cakre bahumānam ca tāsu nityam yudhiṣṭhira
42. bhīṣmaḥ uvāca yudhiṣṭhira etat śrutvā sahasrākṣaḥ

42. Bhīṣma said: Having heard this, the thousand-eyed one (Indra) always worshipped cows. And, O Yudhiṣṭhira, he constantly showed great respect towards them.
