महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-38, verse-45

अभियाने तु पार्थस्य नरैर्नगरवासिभिः ।
नगरं राजमार्गश्च यथावत्समलंकृतम् ॥४५॥
45. abhiyāne tu pārthasya narairnagaravāsibhiḥ ,
nagaraṁ rājamārgaśca yathāvatsamalaṁkṛtam.
45. abhiyāne tu pārthasya naraiḥ nagaravāsibhiḥ
nagaram rājamārgaḥ ca yathāvat samalaṅkṛtam
45. tu pārthasya abhiyāne,
nagaram ca rājamārgaḥ (ca) nagaravāsibhiḥ naraiḥ yathāvat samalaṅkṛtam (āsīt).
45. Indeed, at Partha's approach, the city and the royal road were properly adorned by the city-dwellers.
