महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-38, verse-14

मृत्युरात्मेच्छया यस्य जातस्य मनुजेष्वपि ।
तथानपत्यस्य सतः पुण्यलोका दिवि श्रुताः ॥१४॥
14. mṛtyurātmecchayā yasya jātasya manujeṣvapi ,
tathānapatyasya sataḥ puṇyalokā divi śrutāḥ.
14. mṛtyuḥ ātma-icchayā yasya jātasyā manujeṣu api
tathā anapatyasya sataḥ puṇyalokāḥ divi śrutāḥ
14. yasya manujeṣu api jātasyā mṛtyuḥ ātma-icchayā
tathā anapatyasyā sataḥ puṇyalokāḥ divi śrutāḥ
14. Whose death, even for one born among men, was by his own will (ātma-icchā). And similarly, for him, though he had no offspring, meritorious worlds are renowned in heaven.
