महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-38, verse-13

मार्कण्डेयमुखात्कृत्स्नं यतिधर्ममवाप्तवान् ।
रामादस्त्राणि शक्राच्च प्राप्तवान्भरतर्षभ ॥१३॥
13. mārkaṇḍeyamukhātkṛtsnaṁ yatidharmamavāptavān ,
rāmādastrāṇi śakrācca prāptavānbharatarṣabha.
13. mārkaṇḍeyamukhāt kṛtsnam yatidharmam avāptavān
rāmāt astrāṇi śakrāt ca prāptavān bharatarṣabha
13. bharatarṣabha mārkaṇḍeyamukhāt kṛtsnam yatidharmam
avāptavān rāmāt ca śakrāt ca astrāṇi prāptavān
13. O best of Bharatas, he obtained the entire constitution (dharma) of ascetics from the mouth of Mārkaṇḍeya. And he received weapons from Rāma and from Śakra (Indra).
