महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-331, verse-12

तपसापि न दृश्यो हि भगवाँल्लोकपूजितः ।
यं दृष्टवन्तस्ते साक्षाच्छ्रीवत्साङ्कविभूषणम् ॥१२॥
12. tapasāpi na dṛśyo hi bhagavāँllokapūjitaḥ ,
yaṁ dṛṣṭavantaste sākṣācchrīvatsāṅkavibhūṣaṇam.
12. tapasā api na dṛśyaḥ hi bhagavān lokapūjitaḥ
yam dṛṣṭavantaḥ te sākṣāt śrīvatsāṅkavibhūṣaṇam
12. hi lokapūjitaḥ bhagavān tapasā api na dṛśyaḥ te
yam śrīvatsāṅkavibhūṣaṇam sākṣāt dṛṣṭavantaḥ
12. Indeed, the revered Lord, worshipped by the worlds, is not to be seen even by spiritual discipline (tapas). Yet, those [ancestors] saw him directly, adorned with the mark of Śrīvatsa.
