महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-122, verse-42

आनुपूर्व्या च दण्डोऽसौ प्रजा जागर्ति पालयन् ।
इन्द्रो जागर्ति भगवानिन्द्रादग्निर्विभावसुः ॥४२॥
42. ānupūrvyā ca daṇḍo'sau prajā jāgarti pālayan ,
indro jāgarti bhagavānindrādagnirvibhāvasuḥ.

indraḥ jāgarti bhagavān indrāt agniḥ vibhāvasuḥ

42. And this power of justice (daṇḍa), by being vigilant, protects the subjects in due order. The glorious Indra is vigilant; from Indra, the radiant Agni is vigilant.
