भस्त्रा माता पितुः पुत्रो येन जातः स एव सः ।
भरस्व पुत्रं दुःषन्त मावमंस्थाः शकुन्तलाम् ॥२९॥

29. bhastrā mātā pituḥ putro yena jātaḥ sa eva saḥ ,
bharasva putraṁ duḥṣanta māvamaṁsthāḥ śakuntalām.

29. The mother is merely a vessel; the son truly belongs to the father who begot him. Therefore, O Duṣyanta, cherish this son and do not disrespect Śakuntalā.

29. הו דוּשְׁיַנְטַה, האם אינה אלא מפוח עור, והבן שייך לאב, ומי שהוליד אותו הוא הוא עצמו. פרנס את בנך ואל תזלזל בשַׁקוּנְטַלָה.
