महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-122, verse-8

ययोरेव समं वित्तं ययोरेव समं कुलम् ।
तयोः सख्यं विवाहश्च न तु पुष्टविपुष्टयोः ॥८॥
8. yayoreva samaṁ vittaṁ yayoreva samaṁ kulam ,
tayoḥ sakhyaṁ vivāhaśca na tu puṣṭavipuṣṭayoḥ.
8. yayoḥ eva samam vittam yayoḥ eva samam kulam |
tayoḥ sakhyam vivāhaḥ ca na tu puṣṭavipuṣṭayoḥ
8. Friendship and marriage are suitable only for those two who possess equal wealth and equal family lineage. They are not meant for those who are strong and weak, or flourishing and declining, respectively.
