39. tatastasyānuyātrāṇi te caiva paricārakāḥ ,
śrutvā bharatasiṁhasya vividhāḥ karuṇā giraḥ ,
bhīmamārtasvaraṁ kṛtvā hāheti paricukruśuḥ.

39.
Then, his followers and those very attendants, having heard the various pitiful words of the lion among the Bharatas (Pāṇḍu), let out a dreadful cry of anguish, wailing 'Alas! Alas!'
