महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-110, verse-34

वानप्रस्थजनस्यापि दर्शनं कुलवासिनाम् ।
नाप्रियाण्याचरञ्जातु किं पुनर्ग्रामवासिनाम् ॥३४॥
34. vānaprasthajanasyāpi darśanaṁ kulavāsinām ,
nāpriyāṇyācarañjātu kiṁ punargrāmavāsinām.
34. vānaprastha-janasya api darśanam kula-vāsinām
na apriyāṇi ācaran jātu kim punaḥ grāma-vāsinām
34. Even when seeing forest-dwelling ascetics (vānaprastha) or those dwelling in families, he never behaved unpleasantly towards them; much less so towards those living in villages.
