The ignorant one (ajña), through repeated immersions and emergences (in the cycle of existence, saṃsāra), becomes like a pot in a machine. Indeed, that very world, which for a discerning intellect (jñadhiyaḥ) is as insignificant as a puddle filling a cow's hoof-print, (is vast for the ignorant, as described in the next verse).
