अमृतापि मृतास्मीति विपर्यस्तमतिर्वधूः ।
यथा रोदित्यनष्टैव नष्टास्मीति तथैव चित् ॥ २ ॥

Just as a bride (vadhūḥ), whose mind is deluded, cries 'I am dead' even though she is actually immortal and not lost, similarly, consciousness (cit) laments, thinking 'I am lost.'
