There (tatra) existed a Brahmin (brāhmaṇa) named Indu, whose spirit (ātman) was supremely righteous (atidharmātmā), and who was the foremost among those who know the absolute reality (brahman). He was exceptionally peaceful in spirit (atiśāntātmā) and was a descendant of Kaśyapa's lineage.
