Just as oil (taila) is constantly revealed (sphuṭatām eti śāśvatīm) from a sesame seed (tilasya) through crushing (ākrāntyā), so also, from the mind's (cetasaḥ) contemplation (mananāt) and attachment (āsaṅgāt), happiness and unhappiness (sukhāsukhe) become solidified (ghanībhūte).
