वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-2, chapter-110, verse-32

दत्त्वा चास्मीष्टवद्देव्यै ज्येष्ठायै पुण्यकर्मणा ।
तया संभाविता चास्मि स्निग्धया मातृसौहृदात् ॥३२॥
32. dattvā cāsmīṣṭavaddevyai jyeṣṭhāyai puṇyakarmaṇā ,
tayā saṃbhāvitā cāsmi snigdhayā mātṛsauhṛdāt.
32. dattvā ca asmi iṣṭavat devyai jyeṣṭhāyai puṇyakarmaṇā
| tayā saṃbhāvitā ca asmi snigdhayā mātṛsauhṛdāt
32. puṇyakarmaṇā ca asmi iṣṭavat jyeṣṭhāyai devyai dattvā snigdhayā tayā mātṛsauhṛdāt ca asmi saṃbhāvitā.
32. And through my virtuous deeds (karma), I was favorably offered to the elder goddess (Devī). I was also honored by her, the affectionate one, out of maternal kindness.
