महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-247, verse-28

कृतस्य कर्मणस्तत्र भुज्यते यत्फलं दिवि ।
न चान्यत्क्रियते कर्म मूलच्छेदेन भुज्यते ॥२८॥
28. kṛtasya karmaṇastatra bhujyate yatphalaṁ divi ,
na cānyatkriyate karma mūlacchedena bhujyate.
28. kṛtasya karmaṇaḥ tatra bhujyate yat phalam divi
na ca anyat kriyate karma mūlacchedena bhujyate
28. Whatever fruit of a performed action (karma) is enjoyed there in heaven, no new action (karma) is performed. Instead, it is enjoyed until its very root is completely exhausted.
