महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-247, verse-13

तैजसानि शरीराणि भवन्त्यत्रोपपद्यताम् ।
कर्मजान्येव मौद्गल्य न मातृपितृजान्युत ॥१३॥
13. taijasāni śarīrāṇi bhavantyatropapadyatām ,
karmajānyeva maudgalya na mātṛpitṛjānyuta.

13. O Maudgalya, the luminous bodies produced in this realm are solely born of action (karma), and not from mother and father.
