महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-151, verse-24

तथा देवनदी पुण्या सरश्च ब्रह्मनिर्मितम् ।
पुण्यं त्रिलोकविख्यातं सर्वपापहरं शिवम् ॥२४॥
24. tathā devanadī puṇyā saraśca brahmanirmitam ,
puṇyaṁ trilokavikhyātaṁ sarvapāpaharaṁ śivam.

24. tathā puṇyā devanadī ca brahma-nirmitam puṇyam

24. Similarly, there is the sacred divine river, and the lake created by Brahma that is holy, renowned throughout the three worlds, remover of all sins, and auspicious.
