महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-83, verse-43

न्यायतो दुष्कृते घातः सुकृते स्यात्कथं वधः ।
नेह युक्तं चिरं स्थातुं जवेनातो व्रजेद्बुधः ॥४३॥
43. nyāyato duṣkṛte ghātaḥ sukṛte syātkathaṁ vadhaḥ ,
neha yuktaṁ ciraṁ sthātuṁ javenāto vrajedbudhaḥ.
43. nyāyataḥ duṣkṛte ghātaḥ sukṛte syāt katham vadhaḥ na
iha yuktam ciram sthātum javena ataḥ vrajet budhaḥ
43. nyāyataḥ duṣkṛte ghātaḥ (bhavati); sukṛte vadhaḥ katham syāt? iha ciram sthātum na yuktam (asti).

43. By natural law (nyāya), destruction (ghātaḥ) comes for evil deeds (duṣkṛte); how then could there be destruction (vadhaḥ) for virtuous deeds (sukṛte)? It is not proper to remain here for a long time. Therefore, a wise person (budhaḥ) should depart swiftly.
