महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-254, verse-33

दानं भूताभयस्याहुः सर्वदानेभ्य उत्तमम् ।
ब्रवीमि ते सत्यमिदं श्रद्दधस्व च जाजले ॥३३॥

33. dānaṁ bhūtābhayasyāhuḥ sarvadānebhya uttamam ,
bravīmi te satyamidaṁ śraddadhasva ca jājale.

33. They say that the gift (dāna) of fearlessness to all beings is the best among all gifts. I tell you this truth, O Jajali, and you must have faith (śraddhā).
