महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-199, verse-32

विविधैरतिनिर्विद्धैः शस्त्रोपेतैः सुसंवृतैः ।
शक्तिभिश्चावृतं तद्धि द्विजिह्वैरिव पन्नगैः ।
तल्पैश्चाभ्यासिकैर्युक्तं शुशुभे योधरक्षितम् ॥३२॥
32. vividhairatinirviddhaiḥ śastropetaiḥ susaṁvṛtaiḥ ,
śaktibhiścāvṛtaṁ taddhi dvijihvairiva pannagaiḥ ,
talpaiścābhyāsikairyuktaṁ śuśubhe yodharakṣitam.

susaṃvṛtaiḥ śaktibhiḥ ca āvṛtam tat hi
dvijihvaiḥ iva pannagaiḥ talpaiḥ ca
abhyāsikaiḥ yuktam śuśubhe yodharakṣitam
32. Indeed, that city, protected by warriors, shone, being surrounded by various exceedingly sharp, weapon-equipped, and well-covered spears (śakti), as if by two-tongued serpents, and further furnished with training platforms.
