महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-13, verse-20

पितर ऊचुः ।
यतस्व यत्नवांस्तात संतानाय कुलस्य नः ।
आत्मनोऽर्थेऽस्मदर्थे च धर्म इत्येव चाभिभो ॥२०॥
20. pitara ūcuḥ ,
yatasva yatnavāṁstāta saṁtānāya kulasya naḥ ,
ātmano'rthe'smadarthe ca dharma ityeva cābhibho.
20. pitaraḥ ūcuḥ yatasva yatnavān tāta saṁtānāya kulasya naḥ
ātmanaḥ arthe asmadarthe ca dharmaḥ iti eva ca abhibho
20. The ancestors said, "O dear child, O venerable one, be diligent and strive for the continuation of our family. This is indeed your duty, for your own sake and for our sake."
