महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-13, verse-14

पितर ऊचुः ।
यायावरा नाम वयमृषयः संशितव्रताः ।
संतानप्रक्षयाद्ब्रह्मन्नधो गच्छाम मेदिनीम् ॥१४॥
14. pitara ūcuḥ ,
yāyāvarā nāma vayamṛṣayaḥ saṁśitavratāḥ ,
saṁtānaprakṣayādbrahmannadho gacchāma medinīm.

saṃtānaprakṣayāt brahman adhaḥ gacchāma medinīm
14. The ancestors said: "O Brahmin, we are sages known as Yāyāvaras, men of strict vows. Due to the cessation of our lineage, we are falling downwards towards the earth."
