58. I recall the combined sound, a clanging 'jhaṇajhaṇa,' that arose from the crushing of the sharp edges of the jeweled peaks of Mount Mandara, as it was being churned in the milk ocean. This was mingled with the sound of the armlets on Upendra's (Vishnu's) arms, a sound that might have been mistaken for the roar of thunderclouds.
