श्रीवसिष्ठ उवाच ।
इति ब्रह्मणि विश्रान्तिमवाप्य स शिखिध्वजः ।
मुहूर्तमासीत्संशान्तमना निर्वातदीपवत् ॥ १ ॥

Śrī Vasiṣṭha said: Having thus attained complete repose in Brahman (brahman), Śikhidhvaja remained for a moment with a perfectly tranquil mind, like a lamp in a windless place.
