वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-7, chapter-36, verse-17

गदेयं मामिका नैनं संयुगेषु वधिष्यति ।
इत्येवं वरदः प्राह तदा ह्येकाक्षिपिङ्गलः ॥१७॥
17. gadeyaṃ māmikā nainaṃ saṃyugeṣu vadhiṣyati ,
ityevaṃ varadaḥ prāha tadā hyekākṣipiṅgalaḥ.
17. gadā iyam māmikā na enam saṃyugeṣu vadhiṣyati
iti evam varadaḥ prāha tadā hi ekākṣipiṅgalaḥ
17. tadā hi varadaḥ ekākṣipiṅgalaḥ iti evam (mama) iyam
māmikā gadā enam saṃyugeṣu na vadhiṣyati prāha
17. "This mace of mine will certainly not slay him in battles." Thus spoke the boon-giver, Ekākṣipiṅgala (the one-eyed, tawny-colored one), at that time.
