वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-7, chapter-36, verse-15

वरुणश्च वरं प्रादान्नास्य मृत्युर्भविष्यति ।
वर्षायुतशतेनापि मत्पाशादुदकादपि ॥१५॥
15. varuṇaśca varaṃ prādānnāsya mṛtyurbhaviṣyati ,
varṣāyutaśatenāpi matpāśādudakādapi.
15. varuṇaḥ ca varam prādāt na asya mṛtyuḥ bhaviṣyati
varṣa ayuta śatena api mat pāśāt udakāt api
15. varuṇaḥ ca varam prādāt asya mṛtyuḥ varṣa ayuta
śatena api na bhaviṣyati mat pāśāt api udakāt api
15. And Varuṇa granted a boon: 'Death will not befall him, even after a hundred thousand years, nor will it come from my noose or from water.'
