वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-4, chapter-8, verse-29

बाष्पवेगं तु सहसा नदीवेगमिवागतम् ।
धारयामास धैर्येण सुग्रीवो रामसंनिधौ ॥२९॥
29. bāṣpavegaṃ tu sahasā nadīvegamivāgatam ,
dhārayāmāsa dhairyeṇa sugrīvo rāmasaṃnidhau.
29. bāṣpavegam tu sahasā nadīvegam iva āgatam
dhārayāmāsa dhairyena sugrīvaḥ rāmasaṃnidhau
29. tu sugrīvaḥ rāmasaṃnidhau sahasā nadīvegam iva āgatam bāṣpavegam dhairyena dhārayāmāsa.
29. But Sugriva, in the presence of Rama, suddenly restrained the surge of tears that had come like the rush of a river, holding them back with fortitude.
