वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-2, chapter-66, verse-22

तदिदं ह्यन्यथा भूतं व्यवदीर्णं मनो मम ।
पितरं यो न पश्यामि नित्यं प्रियहिते रतम् ॥२२॥
22. tadidaṃ hyanyathā bhūtaṃ vyavadīrṇaṃ mano mama ,
pitaraṃ yo na paśyāmi nityaṃ priyahite ratam.
22. tat idam hi anyathā bhūtam vyavadīrṇam manaḥ mama
pitaram yaḥ na paśyāmi nityam priyahite ratam
22. hi tat idam anyathā bhūtam mama manaḥ vyavadīrṇam
yaḥ nityam priyahite ratam pitaram na paśyāmi
22. Indeed, this situation has turned out otherwise, and my mind is shattered. I do not see my father, who was always devoted to my well-being and what was dear to me.
