वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-2, chapter-66, verse-14

तं प्रत्युवाच कैकेयी प्रियवद्घोरमप्रियम् ।
अजानन्तं प्रजानन्ती राज्यलोभेन मोहिता ।
या गतिः सर्वभूतानां तां गतिं ते पिता गतः ॥१४॥
14. taṃ pratyuvāca kaikeyī priyavadghoramapriyam ,
ajānantaṃ prajānantī rājyalobhena mohitā ,
yā gatiḥ sarvabhūtānāṃ tāṃ gatiṃ te pitā gataḥ.
14. tam pratyuvāca kaikeyī priyavat
ghoram apriyam ajānantam prajānantī
rājyalobhena mohitā yā gatiḥ
sarvabhūtānām tām gatim te pitā gataḥ
14. rājyalobhena mohitā kaikeyī ajānantam

14. Kaikeyī, deluded by greed for the kingdom, replied to him — who was unaware — with a terrible and unpleasant speech, though it sounded affectionate. She said: 'Your father has met the same fate (gati) that all beings inevitably face.'
