बृहत्-पाराशर-होरा-शास्त्रम्       bṛhat-pārāśara-horā-śāstram - chapter-70, verse-15

पितृजन्माष्टमे जातस्तदीशे लग्नगेऽपि वा ।
करोति पितृकार्याणि स एवात्र न संशयः ॥१५॥
15. pitṛjanmāṣṭame jātastadīśe lagnage'pi vā .
karoti pitṛkāryāṇi sa evātra na saṃśayaḥ.

15. If a person is born such that a planet is positioned in the eighth house from the father's natal ascendant or Moon sign, and the lord of that eighth house is also in the native's ascendant, then that very person undoubtedly performs the ancestral rites (pitṛkāryāṇi) for his father.
