मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-97, verse-26

तच्छ्रुत्वा स परिष्वज्ये स्नेहार्द्रनयनो गुरुः ।
शिष्याय प्रददौ वेदान्साङ्गोपाङ्गान्महामुने ॥२६॥
26. tacchrutvā sa pariṣvajye snehārdranayano guruḥ .

26. tat śrutvā sa pariṣvajya sneha ārdra nayanaḥ guruḥ
śiṣyāya pradadau vedān sa aṅga upa aṅgān mahāmune
26. O great sage, having heard that, the teacher (guru), whose eyes were moist with affection, embraced him and bestowed upon the disciple the Vedas, complete with their auxiliary sciences (aṅgas) and sub-auxiliary sciences (upāṅgas).
