मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-97, verse-16

अहोरात्रकृतं पापं श्रुतमेतत्सकृद्द्विज ।
नाशयिष्यत्यसन्दिग्धं मम तुष्टिकरं परम् ॥१६॥
16. ahorātrakṛtaṃ pāpaṃ śrutametatsakṛddvija .
nāśayiṣyatyasandigdhaṃ mama tuṣṭikaraṃ param.
16. ahorātrakṛtam pāpam śrutam etat sakṛt dvija
nāśayiṣyati asandigdham mama tuṣṭikaram param
16. O twice-born one (dvija), if this (text) is heard (recited) just once, it will undoubtedly destroy the sins committed day and night. This is supremely pleasing to Me.
