अग्निरुवाच ।
गुरोरर्थे यतो ब्रह्मन्याचितं ते वरद्वयम् ।
नात्मार्थं तेन मे प्रीतिस्त्वय्यतीव महामुने ॥११॥

agniḥ uvāca guroḥ arthe yataḥ brahman yācitam te varadvayam
na ātmārtham tena me prītiḥ tvayi atīva mahāmune

Agni said: "O Brahmin, because you requested the two boons for the sake of your preceptor (guru), not for your own self (ātman), therefore, O great sage, my affection for you is exceedingly great."
