मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-97, verse-19

मार्कण्डेय उवाच ।
इत्युक्त्वा भगवानग्निः पश्यतस्तस्य वै मुने ।
बभूवादर्शनः सद्यो दीपस्थो निर्वृतो यथा ॥१९॥
19. mārkaṇḍeya uvāca .
ityuktvā bhagavānagniḥ paśyatastasya vai mune .
babhūvādarśanaḥ sadyo dīpastho nirvṛto yathā.
19. mārkaṇḍeyaḥ uvāca iti uktvā bhagavān agniḥ paśyataḥ tasya
vai mune babhūva adarśanaḥ sadyaḥ dīpasthaḥ nirvṛtaḥ yathā
19. Mārkaṇḍeya said: "Having thus spoken, the divine Agni immediately disappeared while that sage (muni) was watching, just as a lamp, extinguished, disappears."
