मार्कण्डेय उवाच ।
एतच्छ्रुत्वा वचस्तस्य तमाह द्विजसत्तमम् ।
स्तोत्रेणाराधितस्तेन गुरुभक्त्या च पावकः ॥१०॥
एतच्छ्रुत्वा वचस्तस्य तमाह द्विजसत्तमम् ।

10. mārkaṇḍeya uvāca .
etacchrutvā vacastasya tamāha dvijasattamam .
stotreṇārādhitastena gurubhaktyā ca pāvakaḥ.

Markandeya said: Having heard his words, (Agni) spoke to that best among brahmins. And Agni was worshipped by him (the boy) through that hymn and his devotion to the teacher (guru).
