महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-59, verse-5

तेऽपतन्त हता बाणैर्नानारूपैः किरीटिना ।
सविमाना यथा सिद्धाः स्वर्गात्पुण्यक्षये तथा ॥५॥
5. te'patanta hatā bāṇairnānārūpaiḥ kirīṭinā ,
savimānā yathā siddhāḥ svargātpuṇyakṣaye tathā.
5. te apatanta hatāḥ bāṇaiḥ nānārūpaiḥ kirīṭinā
savimānāḥ yathā siddhāḥ svargāt puṇyakṣaye tathā
5. te kirīṭinā nānārūpaiḥ bāṇaiḥ hatāḥ apatanta
yathā puṇyakṣaye savimānāḥ siddhāḥ svargāt tathā
5. They fell, slain by Arjuna, the wearer of the diadem, with arrows of various types, just as perfected beings (siddhas) fall from heaven with their celestial chariots upon the exhaustion of their merit.
