महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-59, verse-33

तद्दृष्ट्वा कुरवस्तत्र विक्रान्तं सव्यसाचिनः ।
निराशाः समपद्यन्त सर्वे कर्णस्य जीविते ॥३३॥
33. taddṛṣṭvā kuravastatra vikrāntaṁ savyasācinaḥ ,
nirāśāḥ samapadyanta sarve karṇasya jīvite.
33. tat dṛṣṭvā kuravaḥ tatra vikrāntam savya-sācinaḥ
| nirāśāḥ samapadyanta sarve karṇasya jīvite
33. tatra tat savya-sācinaḥ vikrāntam dṛṣṭvā sarve

33. Seeing that heroic deed of Arjuna, the left-handed warrior, there, all the Kurus became hopeless regarding Karṇa's life.
