महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-48, verse-9

एतौ हि कर्मणा लोकान्नन्दयामासतुर्ध्रुवौ ।
असुराणामभावाय देवगन्धर्वपूजितौ ॥९॥
9. etau hi karmaṇā lokānnandayāmāsaturdhruvau ,
asurāṇāmabhāvāya devagandharvapūjitau.

asurāṇām abhāvāya devagandharvapūjitau
9. Indeed, these two, revered by gods and gandharvas, constantly brought joy to the worlds through their actions (karma), all for the annihilation of the asuras (demons).
