महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-38, verse-41

न च सर्वामरैश्वर्यं कामये त्रिदशाधिप ।
भ्रातॄंस्तान्विपिने त्यक्त्वा वैरमप्रतियात्य च ।
अकीर्तिं सर्वलोकेषु गच्छेयं शाश्वतीः समाः ॥४१॥
41. na ca sarvāmaraiśvaryaṁ kāmaye tridaśādhipa ,
bhrātṝṁstānvipine tyaktvā vairamapratiyātya ca ,
akīrtiṁ sarvalokeṣu gaccheyaṁ śāśvatīḥ samāḥ.

tridaśādhipa bhrātṝn tān vipine tyaktvā
vairam apratiyātya ca akīrtim
sarvalokeṣu gaccheyam śāśvatīḥ samāḥ
41. O lord of the thirty (gods), I do not desire sovereignty over all immortals. By abandoning those brothers in the forest and not retaliating against the enmity, I would incur eternal dishonor (akīrti) in all worlds for countless years.
