Viṣṇu is the twenty-fifth (principle, tattva). He is devoid of principles (nistattva), yet he is designated as a principle (tattvasaṃjñaka). Because of his relationship to (saṃśrayaṇāt) the other principles (tattva), the wise (manīṣiṇaḥ) call him this (ultimate) principle (tattva).
