महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-1, verse-37

अहं त्वज्ञासिषं पश्चात्स्वसोदर्यं द्विजोत्तम ।
पूर्वजं भ्रातरं कर्णं पृथाया वचनात्प्रभो ॥३७॥
37. ahaṁ tvajñāsiṣaṁ paścātsvasodaryaṁ dvijottama ,
pūrvajaṁ bhrātaraṁ karṇaṁ pṛthāyā vacanātprabho.
37. aham tu ajñāsiṣam paścāt sva-sodaryam dvija-uttama
| pūrva-jam bhrātaram karṇam pṛthāyāḥ vacanāt prabho
37. dvija-uttama prabho aham tu paścāt pṛthāyāḥ vacanāt
sva-sodaryam pūrva-jam bhrātaram karṇam ajñāsiṣam
37. But I, O best of the twice-born (dvija), later came to know from Pṛthā's words, O lord, that Karṇa was my full brother, my elder brother.
