महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-1, verse-28

न हि शक्ष्याम्यहं त्यक्तुं नृपं दुर्योधनं रणे ।
अनार्यं च नृशंसं च कृतघ्नं च हि मे भवेत् ॥२८॥
28. na hi śakṣyāmyahaṁ tyaktuṁ nṛpaṁ duryodhanaṁ raṇe ,
anāryaṁ ca nṛśaṁsaṁ ca kṛtaghnaṁ ca hi me bhavet.
28. na hi śakṣyāmi aham tyaktum nṛpam duryodhanam raṇe
anāryam ca nṛśaṃsam ca kṛtaghnam ca hi me bhavet
28. aham raṇe nṛpam duryodhanam tyaktum na hi śakṣyāmi
hi ca me anāryam nṛśaṃsam kṛtaghnam ca bhavet
28. Indeed, I will not be able to abandon King Duryodhana in battle. It would certainly make me ignoble, cruel, and ungrateful.
