महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-1, verse-24

अजानता मया संख्ये राज्यलुब्धेन घातितः ।
तन्मे दहति गात्राणि तूलराशिमिवानलः ॥२४॥
24. ajānatā mayā saṁkhye rājyalubdhena ghātitaḥ ,
tanme dahati gātrāṇi tūlarāśimivānalaḥ.

tat me dahati gātrāṇi tūlarāśim iva analaḥ
24. mayā ajānatā rājyalubdhena saṅkhye ghātitaḥ

24. He was killed in battle by me, unknowingly and driven by greed for the kingdom. That act now consumes my limbs, just as fire consumes a pile of cotton.
