महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-93, verse-4

वैशंपायन उवाच ।
सैवमुक्ता ततो गङ्गा राजानमिदमब्रवीत् ।
भर्तारं जाह्नवी देवी शंतनुं पुरुषर्षभम् ॥४॥
4. vaiśaṁpāyana uvāca ,
saivamuktā tato gaṅgā rājānamidamabravīt ,
bhartāraṁ jāhnavī devī śaṁtanuṁ puruṣarṣabham.
4. vaiśampāyanaḥ uvāca sā evam uktā tataḥ gaṅgā rājānam idam
abravīt bhartāram jāhnavī devī śantanuṃ puruṣarṣabham
4. Vaiśampāyana said: Thus addressed, the goddess Gaṅgā, also known as Jāhnavī, then spoke these words to her husband, King Śantanu, the best of men.
