शप्त्वा च तान्महाभागस्तपस्येव मनो दधे ।
एवं स शप्तवान्राजन्वसूनष्टौ तपोधनः ।
महाप्रभावो ब्रह्मर्षिर्देवान्रोषसमन्वितः ॥३३॥

33. śaptvā ca tānmahābhāgastapasyeva mano dadhe ,
evaṁ sa śaptavānrājanvasūnaṣṭau tapodhanaḥ ,
mahāprabhāvo brahmarṣirdevānroṣasamanvitaḥ.

manaḥ dadhe evam sa śaptavān rājan
vasūn aṣṭau tapodhanaḥ mahāprabhāvaḥ
brahmarṣiḥ devān roṣasamanvitaḥ

33. And having cursed those Vasus, the greatly illustrious one then fixed his mind on austerity. Thus, O king, that powerful Brahman sage, whose wealth was austerity and who was filled with anger, cursed the eight Vasu deities.
