महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-166, verse-8

कशाप्रहाराभिहतस्ततः स मुनिसत्तमः ।
तं शशाप नृपश्रेष्ठं वासिष्ठः क्रोधमूर्च्छितः ॥८॥
8. kaśāprahārābhihatastataḥ sa munisattamaḥ ,
taṁ śaśāpa nṛpaśreṣṭhaṁ vāsiṣṭhaḥ krodhamūrcchitaḥ.

8. Then, that preeminent sage (Vasiṣṭha), struck by whip blows and overwhelmed with anger, cursed that finest of kings.
