महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-166, verse-18

रक्षसा तु गृहीतं तं विदित्वा स मुनिस्तदा ।
विश्वामित्रोऽप्यपक्रामत्तस्माद्देशादरिंदम ॥१८॥
18. rakṣasā tu gṛhītaṁ taṁ viditvā sa munistadā ,
viśvāmitro'pyapakrāmattasmāddeśādariṁdama.
18. rakṣasā tu gṛhītam tam viditvā saḥ muniḥ tadā
viśvāmitraḥ api apakrāmat tasmāt deśāt arimdamā
18. But when that (king) was seized by the demon (rākṣasa), that sage Viśvāmitra, realizing this, immediately departed from that place, O subduer of enemies.
