महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-166, verse-36

एवमुक्त्वा ततः सद्यस्तं प्राणैर्विप्रयुज्य सः ।
शक्तिनं भक्षयामास व्याघ्रः पशुमिवेप्सितम् ॥३६॥
36. evamuktvā tataḥ sadyastaṁ prāṇairviprayujya saḥ ,
śaktinaṁ bhakṣayāmāsa vyāghraḥ paśumivepsitam.
36. evam uktvā tataḥ sadyaḥ tam prāṇaiḥ viprayujya saḥ
śaktinam bhakṣayām āsa vyāghraḥ paśum iva īpsitam
36. Having spoken thus, he immediately then separated him (Śakti) from his life-breaths and devoured Śaktin, just as a tiger devours a desired animal.
