ददर्शात्मबलं रिक्तं बलवद्रिपुमण्डलम् ।
गर्जन्तं च लयाकृत्या भीमं युद्धोद्धतार्णवम् ॥ ९ ॥

9. He saw his own strength (ātman) depleted, and a mighty enemy host roaring like the form of dissolution, a terrible ocean stirred up for battle.
